A sunny Friday has to be a good sign for a great weekend, right? This weekend is actually a bit of a breather for us, just some plans with family before wedding after wedding after 1 year old birthday party. <- no complaints, I actually love this stuff.
Here are a few things I’ve been loving or hating of just want to mention.
Mobile Ordering – Wow, talk about an easy way to cut time off my commute. I’d held out on downloading the Starbucks app for a couple reasons. I didn’t want to cut all personal interaction out of my experience and I also didn’t want to admit how often I go to Starbucks. But a few week’s ago, the line at my local shop was wrapped around the store and I waited at least 20 minutes. If you didn’t know, I have severe anxiety about being late. I don’t have a lot of anxiety in general, but lateness makes my heart palpitate. I downloaded the app and I was instantly hooked. It saves me at least 10 minutes each morning. I order as soon as I’m on the train platform and it’s ready and waiting for me as soon as I get to the store. Every time. I dump some milk in my cup, grab a straw and I’m out the door in 30 seconds. I guess I should download apple pay too.
Orange Theory – I’ve been twice and I like it. I decided to do the 4 class a month membership as a trial run. My only compliant is that the heart rate monitor is $100 or $10 per class to rent. This seems nuts to me. Super strategic on their part, but also highway robbery. If Flywheel can include the cost of shoes in their price and soulcycle can only charge $2 to rent, how do they get away with a $10 per class rental fee? Anywho, I was complaining away to Ashley, and she brilliantly suggested that I buy a used one. I’ve been looking on ebay, but if anyone has an OTF monitor that they want to trade in for some $$ let me know.
Beauty Counter Lengthening Mascara – Update, this mascara is not getting better. In fact, it is getting worse. So clumpy and messy and hard to remove. I think I’m going to ditch this and see if their other option is better.
Macy’s VIP Sale – up to 30% off brands that don’t typically go on sale. I’ve been trying to complete my dish set forever. For the longest time, it was out of stock and I was stuck with 5 place settings. Then, when it was back in stock, none of the sales included it. I’ve been checking every week since July 1st and haven’t once seen them on sale. I’m glad I held out because 20% off is feeling great and I can finally invite 8 people to eat at my already tight with 6 dining room table.
Frank – He’s been gone all week and I’ve missed him. I’m also excited to hand over the night time dog walk. Fun fact, we got engaged 5 years ago today.
I’m back on the ACV train. This time I’m upping the ante with tumeric (which I’m terrified will stain my counters). This definitely tastes better than ACV on it’s own, but I’m not sure it’s worth the price tag.
The Bobby and Damaris Show – 2 episodes in and I already I effing love this show
How to Help Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Islands and Mexico
Unlimited Vacation Time is a Lot of Work – I’ve always worked at a place that has set vacation and sick days <–I left my last job with over 600 sick hours. I know a lot of people whose companies just have a “don’t be a jerk policy.” I’d love to hear your thoughts on which you’d pick if you had your choice.
I have jury duty next week and I love that The Infatuation has a guide of where to eat lunch while on jury duty.

I use the chest strap heart monitor at Orangetheory, which is a LOT cheaper. I already wear my FitBit so I don’t need another watch. Hope that helps!
Thanks, Laura.
